Increase and Support Minority Participation and Success in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Technology.
OUR VISION
The majority of STEM workers in the U.S. are White (69%), followed by Asians (13%), African Americans (9%), and Hispanics (7%). Our aim is to increase minorities employed in STEM related fields.
Our goal is to bridge the technology skills gap by targeting and educating minority populations from underrepresented communities and establishing a pipeline that prepares them for technical certification, higher education, and higher-paying jobs in STEM fields.
Preparing the underrepresented for higher paying jobs in Science & Technology
We often joke with our students: "if you can teach us how to Dougie.. we can teach you how to code." We laugh, we find a common ground, and we build from there. Adding dance, music and poetic expressions or hip hop to technology and coding allows us to relate to one another and sets a magical tone for sharing and learning. We have fun, we learn, we grow.
